Hogarth: Place and Progress

9 October 2019 – 5 January 2020

I oversaw the curation and delivery of this major exhibition which brought William Hogarth’s painted and engraved series together for the first time. My responsibilities included conceiving the theme with the external curator; coming up with the exhibition title; devising the curatorial approach and arrangement of works in different spaces around the museum; commissioning and working closely with Charles Holland Architects as exhibition designers and Hoare Lea as lighting designers; commissioning Unlimited/Patrick Morrissey as catalogue designer and Tom Neville as catalogue project editor; editing exhibition intro texts, labels and captions; as well as various other tasks in my role as Senior Curator of Exhibitions and Education at Sir John Soane’s Museum.
