Architectural Styles: A Visual Guide

Have you ever wondered what the difference is between Gothic and Gothic Revival, or how to distinguish between Baroque and Neoclassical? Then keep an eye out for my second book, Architectural Styles: A Visual Guide, which examines the styles that have defined western architecture from ancient Greece to the present day.

Reading Architecture: A Visual Lexicon

I am pleased to say that my first book has now been translated into French, Spanish, German, Italian, Dutch, Polish and Japanese. Russian, Korean and Chinese editions will be published over the next year. The book is available in good bookshops and online.

From the Shadows

I am nearing the completion of a book exploring the architecture and legacy of the seventeenth- and early-eighteenth-century architect, Nicholas Hawksmoor, who is best known for his six great London churches. Entitled From the Shadows: The Architecture and Afterlife of Nicholas Hawksmoor, it will be published next year by Reaktion.
